Irrigation -- There is very little organic matter in this conventionally tilled soil. The weak soil clods will quickly fall apart upon contact with water and soil particles will seal the surface restricting infiltration. The center pivot irrigation system will not be able to supply water slow enough to match infiltration and much of the water will evaporate or runoff.
