The SRITB project contains many tools to aid soil scientists. This website contains downloads for Pedon PC, Analysis PC, the Lab Program, Pedon PC Plus, MyToolbar, Pedon ErrorChecker, Pedon Cleaner, Pedon CE support and links to Autopop and the Digital Editing Tools.

ANALYSIS PC

Analysis PC contains text choice list values, a cleaner interface and an integrated pedon database.

The first download below contains all the files necessary to run Analysis PC. The other downloads contain individual files.

WINDOWS PEDON FILE (pedon.mdb) ERROR CHECKER

This program will check your pedon.mdb file to see if it is a valid Windows Pedon file, has valid domains and so on. This does have the current NASIS domains.

PEDON CLEANER (cleans the pedon.mdb file)

This Access program will clean a pedon database's carriage return and line feeds from text fields (for specialized users only).

FILE EXPLANATION

PROGRAM FILES

pedon_pc.mdb is the Pedon PC program. Use it to enter pedon descriptions and upload to NASIS.

analysis_pc.mdb is the Analysis PC program. Use it to analyze NASIS downloaded data. All choice lists have been uncoded to English text, making it easier to analyze data.

pedon_pc_plus.mdb is the Pedon PC Plus program. Use it to enter data and analyze NASIS downloaded data. It is a combination of Pedon PC and Analysis PC. Pedon PC Plus has additional features including more Analysis Forms (Drill Down and Query Builder), a Photo feature and Aggregate data features.

lab.mdb is the Lab Data Entry Program. Use it to enter lab metadata (for your university lab data for example).

SUPPORT FILES

pedon.mdb is where your pedon point data is stored. It starts out blank. The Pedon PC, Lab Program and Pedon PC Plus all use this backend database file. Unlike those programs, Analysis PC has the pedon tables embedded in its database (i.e. pedon.mdb is not an external database linked to it like in the other programs).

templatedb.mdb is a sample SSURGO template database with survey data from MT618. You should import data into a SSURGO template database for your area or download one for your area off the Soil Data Mart Site and import your soil survey area legend from NASIS. Make sure that the template you use is renamed to "templatedb.mdb" (default name). This file is used in Pedon PC, Analysis PC and Pedon PC Plus.

arcmap_link.mdb is the connection between Access and ArcMap. This is used to communicate with ArcMap. It links the tabular databases to ArcMap and contains the tAnalyzeSpatial table. This file is used in Analysis PC and Pedon PC Plus. Note that this file name is the same in Analysis PC and Pedon PC Plus, but the contents of each are different. This means you must use the specific arcmap_link.mdb file packaged with each program.

PG645.mdb is a personal geodatabase (PG) for a survey area in Montana. You need to create your own personal geodatabase file for your soil survey area. This file is used in Analysis PC and Pedon PC Plus.

AM645_SSA.mxd is an ArcMap project file for a survey area in Montana. You need to create your own ArcMap project file for your soil survey area. This file is a sample file for Analysis PC. You need to create this type of file for Analysis PC and Pedon PC Plus.

Analysis_PC.tbx is the ToolBox for ArcMap that contains the Models. This file is used in Analysis PC and Pedon PC Plus. Note that this file name is the same in Analysis PC and Pedon PC Plus, but the contents of each are different. This means you must use the specific Analysis_PC.tbx file packaged with each program.

workspace_legend.mdb is an Access database file used with the Aggregate data features. This file is only used in Pedon PC Plus.

All files for the Pedon PC, Lab program and Pedon PC Plus default to the folder C:\PEDON. All the files for Analysis PC default to the folder C:\ANALYSIS.
